The future of renewable energy in the UAE

by The 100 Companies

By 2030, the UAE aims to have the world’s largest solar energy plant – supporting the country’s efforts to diversify from oil reliance. The first two phases of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Solar Park are complete, with a third phase underway.

With the rapid transformation of the energy world, the Middle East must embrace renewable and sustainable energy production. Solar energy is plentiful in the region and this must be exploited.

Shaikh Hamdan recently launched the Zayed World Humanitarian Renewable Energy Initiative to tackle climate change and support the deployment of clean energy sources. The future is promising for the region.
