UAE and KSA to lead growth of e-commerce in MENA

by

The MENA e-commerce market is expected to grow more than threefold over the next five years. A report by Google and Bain & Co. predicts the total MENA e-commerce market will be worth $28.5 billion by 2022.

Such growth will be led by developments in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. In fact, the UAE is predicted to grow 31 percent annually to reach $9 billion by 2022, with e-commerce representing 13 percent of total retail sales in the country.

Greater product selection, entry of new players and innovation in business models are anticipated to drive this growth.
