The completion of a transaction, whether it’s simply selling merchandise or completing a contract, typically ends with a “thank you,” but that shouldn’t be the limit of your gratitude.
Not only does saying thank you promote well-being for yourself and others, it’s powerful in your professional dealings. A brief but honest thank-you note telling a client that you appreciate their business relationship is surprising, welcome and heartening, especially when it isn’t associated with current business.
Recent research suggests people underestimate sharing expressions of gratitude, believing instead they may be seen as self-serving. Thankfully, that’s not the case.
