There was a different focus for the recent UAE National Day. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, called on citizens and residents to “celebrate achievements” rather than “personalities.”
One of the country’s greatest achievements, EXPO2020, still a work in progress, is officially launching in two years. Its theme, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,” reflects the spirit that created the UAE, as highlighted in this article “The United Arab Emirates Turns 50 and Invites the World to Its Party.” EXPO2020 is an achievement by the entire UAE.
