With 25 million people expected to visit Expo 2020, exciting times are ahead. But we must not let the excitement distract us from the fact that such an event can create a massive amount of waste.
It’s great to hear the event organizers have sealed a partnership with UAE waste management firm Dulsco that will ensure 85 percent of waste from the site will be diverted from landfill. The UAE must leverage the Expo to promote environmental sustainability to the region and world.
