Dibba Bay: UAE’s first oyster farm

by The 100 Companies

Thanks to Scotsman Ramie Murray, an aquaculture businessman, Dubai’s oyster connoisseurs can now savour the sweet taste of fresh oysters straight from Dibba Bay, Fujairah.

Shipping around 30,000 oysters to restaurants across Dubai monthly – including Maine Oyster Bar & Grill and Sean Connolly at Dubai Opera – the delectable sea treasures are quickly making a name for themselves in the culinary world.

Locally farmed oysters have a positive effect on their surroundings, helping to increase bio-diversity and improve local ecosystems. They also support the farm-to-table movement, with twice-weekly harvests ensuring the oysters are as fresh as ever.
