Launched by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Wanna Read? aims to promote literacy amongst young patients, encourage parental engagement and inspire greater community service, by making a stay at the children’s hospital an enriching experience.
Since its establishment in 2013, the non-profit has distributed over 5,000 books to 13 reading rooms across hospitals in the country for children unable to leave their hospital beds. Organisers provide book trolleys, creating a warm and fictional universe for the children at their beds.
