While the UAE summer temperatures continue to rise, Sharjah residents now have a chance to cool down in a unique “rain room” installation at Sharjah Art Foundation.
The immersive light and sound experience is the first of its kind in the Middle East and uses 2,500 litres of recycled water. Created by London-based company Random International, the rain room features motion sensors and 3D-tracking cameras that allow you to stand under the pouring rain without getting wet.
As visitors navigate their way around the darkened space, they become performers in this intersection of art, technology and nature.
