Magazines … we’ve all seen them, and we’ve all noticed the same repetitive covers and messaging (cue eye roll). Now, this frustration with monotonous magazines has inspired Waleed Saleh, a UAE-based photographer, to create a photo series called “Magazine Covers.”
Shot in different countries, with diverse models, Saleh’s project highlights social stigmas and challenges traditional beauty standards.
In this campaign, Saleh breaks stereotypes by adding a sarcastic and playful take on the styles and aesthetics of popular magazine covers and their content, with thought provoking messaging about today’s world that will definitely get you thinking, if you haven’t been thinking already.
