Meet Ali Cha’aban, a Lebanese-born, Kuwaiti-based artist whose work revolves around the notion of nostalgia, socio-political issues and the state of dystopia.
Cha’aban first started creating art in 2008, when he exhibited pop-art-inspired graffiti at a construction site. Now, his endeavours vary from superimposing superheroes onto Persian rugs to creating a campaign for Nike.
He isn’t planning to put a pause on his artistic visions anytime soon, and now his aim is to engage people and his followers in a productive discussion that transcends sectoral boundaries, creating a “space” that provides an opportunity for dialogue.
