Have You Heard of the Chips Oman Sandwich?

Anyone who spent their childhood in Dubai knows a good ‘Chips Oman Sandwich.’ It is the national sandwich of UAE, but it is not a sandwich that you will find in supermarkets or cafes.

Dubai kids have spent years enjoying the little known cafeterias that make them (HumYum being one of them. Shhh). So what is it? The classic version starts with a hot paratha smothered in cheese with a generous splash of hot sauce and the star ingredient – crushed ‘Chips Oman’ spicy crisps.

And like all great sandwiches, the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts.
