Beyond Meat is developing a meatless bacon

Beef bacon – a combination of words I’d never heard before I moved to Dubai. Extremists may call it a crime against humanity, but I’ll settle with “unappealing food item.”

In the UAE, it’s basically impossible to find a food joint that doesn’t list it on the menu – be it in a burger or in a good old fry-up.

But the future isn’t bleak, because Beyond Meat is working on a plant-based bacon. If it tastes like the Beyond Burger, we could be looking at the Bacon Messiah – tasty, halal and environmentally friendly. I cannot wait to try it.
