Art Dubai Kick Starts Dubai’s Flourishing Art Season

by

It’s the beginning of the most creative time of the year in Dubai, and the perfect catalyst to unleash the creative season is Art Dubai.

This year Art Dubai, the international art fair with roots in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia, celebrated its 11th edition, with a series of dazzling public art displays, live performances, workshops, and exhibitions. Over 94 galleries from 43 different countries showcased works by over 500 artists, making this the most global edition to date.

Supported by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Art Dubai is just the start of the Art Season…

Among one of the main events to take place during Art Season, it’s set to run from March to April 2017 and will feature more than 350 events for every art lover.

Art Dubai is the product of the Art Dubai Group, which has played a key role in the Emirate’s journey towards becoming a leading global destination for arts and design. It has produced the highly successful and internationally recognized annual art and design fair and festivals Design Days Dubai, Downtown Design, Art Week and Design Dubai Week. Through the collaboration of these ventures, the Art Dubai Group continues to be a key moderator in the growth of Dubai’s creative industries.

To date, more than 5,000 people, including 3,000 children, have taken part in its educational programmes in art and design. Over 100 artists and designers have received commissions, offering them the opportunity to exhibit their works at fairs and beyond. In addition, its thought-leadership programmes have promoted Dubai as a center for knowledge and innovation in the creative industries in the Middle East.

The vision for creativity is clear and we can’t wait to see the progress.
