UAE Pavilion’s falcon-inspired roof

In November 2013, the UAE won a bid to host the World Expo in Dubai. This will be the first time that a World Expo is staged in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region.

The National Media Council recently selected architect Santiago Calatrava’s design for the UAE Pavilion. The white roof is inspired by the shape of a falcon in flight and will represent the UAE to 25 million visitors and participants.

The falcon-inspired pavilion aims to tell the history of the country as a place plugged into the world, while staying true to its heritage.
