What started in 2016 as a Facebook group aimed at raising awareness and getting people to stock fridges throughout Dubai has now turned into a campaign with over 27,000 members, all on a mission to serve the less fortunate community workers and labourers with free food and drinks during the Holy month.
Ramadan Sharing Fridges began when founder Summaya Sayed put a fridge stocked with food and water on her front porch. Now, there are 150 fridges installed in Dubai that can be located on Google Maps.
More information on the initiative can be found on the Facebook group.
