My fiancé and I recently began watching “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” on Netflix. Two episodes in, we got to work on our closets, clearing up more than half of the space in both areas.
In the series, Kondo uses the KonMari Method™ from her best-selling book, which encourages tidying by category – beginning with clothes, then books, papers, komono (miscellaneous items) and sentimental items. Keep only things that speak to the heart, and discard items that no longer spark joy.
The feel-good show encouraged us to not only declutter and organize, but to also rethink our spending habits.
