On Sept. 25, 2019, Hazza Al Mansouri made history as the first Emirati to travel into space – landing on the International Space Station in Earth’s low orbit.
The mission was led by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, an organization that is responsible for developing the National Space Programme in collaboration with international space partners.
The space landing marks a huge milestone for the UAE, a country that continues to push the boundaries of technological development and scientific achievement.
Future plans also include preparing Emirati cadres to reach Mars by 2021 and to build the first settlement there by 2117.
