The UAE is always ahead of the curve when it comes to innovation – from flying cars to robotic policemen — and now it has revealed its vision for a space city.
The 500m dirham project will simulate life on Mars across a 1.9 million square metre space, with project laboratories for food, energy and water, and agricultural testing to help sustain life on the red planet.
The project is part of the UAE’s Mars 2117 strategy, to build a settlement on Mars within 100 years. The space city will be sealed inside 3D-printed walls incorporating sand from Emirati dunes.
