For over 20 years, Pantone’s color of the year has impacted industries throughout the world. This year, Classic Blue has been selected, bringing us full circle from 1999, when Pantone selected cerulean, a light blue.
Given the many similarities of 1999 and today, Classic Blue is thought to be soothing as we enter a new decade many perceive as socially, politically and environmentally uncertain. It’s also said to be an encouraging color to expand our perception and create openness to deeper communication.
Pantone chooses its color of the year through a nine-month trend analysis, considering a wide range of industries.
