The National Law of Reading is an unprecedented legislative initiative to help achieve the UAE’s vision of a knowledge-based economy.
The law will see books given to babies and work-related reading time to government staff. Coffee shops must provide reading material to customers, and the private sector is encouraged to invest in new libraries and cultural centres.
