Yara Tlass is a Damascus-born MBA graduate living in Dubai who started her career in the startup world just like many young graduates nowadays. However, this inspirational nomad’s plan changed when the Syrian revolution broke out and she felt compelled to shed light on the civilian cost of the conflict.
Given the catastrophic number of Syrian children losing formal education for years, Yara established Watanili in May 2014 to lend a helping hand.
Meaning ‘my homeland is mine’ in Arabic, Watanili is an inspiring non-profit organization that helps provide displaced Syrian children with educational support on the ground.
