The world’s first 1.7m tall, 100kg operational robotic policeman has been formally inducted into the Dubai Police Force and is set to tackle crime and misdemeanours.
Communicating in six languages, Robocop can detect emotions and facial expressions and respond to queries. A smart intelligence system and facial recognition software enable live feeds back to police headquarters, while his touch screen chest allows people to report crimes, pay for traffic violations and submit paperwork.
Dubai Police are aiming for around 25 percent of the force to be robotic by 2030, enabling police to redirect efforts towards crime prevention. Brilliant.
