UAE’s current Minister of Development and International Cooperation is the first female minister ever appointed in the country.
With a background in IT, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi won plaudits for developing a system that slashed cargo turnaround times at the Dubai airport. Other accomplishments include founding Tejari in 2000, which is the Middle East’s first business-to-business online platform, as well as sitting on the board of directors at the Dubai Chamber.
The UAE’s first-ever female cabinet minister is also ranked at position 42 on Forbes’ World’s 100 Most Powerful Women 2015 list because of her philanthropic endeavors.
