Dubai Leads the Way With the World’s Largest Recycling Plant

by Michael Polzella

The UAE government is making positive steps to reduce electronic waste with its latest announcement of the ‘world’s largest waste recycling plant’ in Dubai, which will recycle the entire range of electrical equipment.

Why is this so important? E-waste in the GCC is expected to reach 900,000 tons by 2020, and is a growing problem globally. If disposed of improperly, toxic metals from electrical waste will ultimately harm future generations.

This environmental-friendly way to counter waste is a welcomed initiative. Now the rest is down to us – so residents, check it out before you chuck it out!
