For the last five years the UAE has ranked as the world’s largest donor of official development aid, according to OECD figures. But when it comes to blood donations, there’s always room for improvement.
The Dubai Blood Donation Centre collected 27,401 blood units in the first six months of 2018. What people may not realise is blood only lasts for 42 days. The Centre needs more donors to come forward to replenish these stocks.
Donations of all blood types are needed, but the less common negative blood groups are in greater demand.
Donate blood, it could save a life.
