The UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has revealed how it’s using artificial intelligence to tackle food waste.
Vision, a new AI-enabled product, allows kitchen staff to track food wastage by helping chefs identify routinely wasted items and adjust their purchasing lists and menus accordingly, to cut costs.
Food tech company Winnow launched Vision at an event that brought together government and private sector entities to sign the UAE Food Waste Pledge – the country’s commitment to meeting the global target of cutting food losses and waste in half by 2030, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
