The $1 million Food Technology Challenge

The UAE has launched the world’s largest food security programme, the seven-month Food Technology Challenge, which aims to achieve national food security.

Its aim is to develop innovative solutions to produce and manage food, and harness advanced technology and techniques that help overcome challenges facing the agricultural sector, with the goal of food production sustainability. The national food basket will be assessed to bridge today’s food gaps and reduce food import amounts.

The four winners who find solutions to agricultural and food sectors through food value chains will be awarded the $1 million prize. They will be announced in April 2020.
