Multigenerational Workforce Communication

by

Communication within a multigenerational workforce can be challenging. Think of each person as an individual who has ideas, thoughts, dreams and suggestions. Pause, reflect, listen. Focus on this person, this interaction, the purpose of this conversation.

Approach each encounter as if you were talking for the first time. What does one need to know? What is crucial? Never assume one’s knowledge. What would happen if we changed and interacted in this way?

The clearer we are in our messages, the less error there is in misinterpreting what is being said. Get rid of the assumptions. Go back to the basics.
