The Louvre Abu Dhabi has announced that November 11th 2017 will be its official opening date. One of the world’s most ambitious cultural projects will open with a message of unity, acceptance, connectivity and tolerance – a beacon that will broadcast these messages from the Arab world.
The museum will display almost 700 exhibits, with loans from major French cultural institutions, including Monet’s La Gare Saint-Lazare, a self-portrait by Vincent Van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci’s La Belle Ferroniere.
It will include a 200-seat auditorium and restaurant within its astounding architectural design – ‘the museum of the sea’.
