A growing number of Dubai restaurants are ditching the plastic straw in favour of more sustainable alternatives. Working with marine conservation group @SeaShepherdMENA, they aim to reduce the amount of plastic waste entering our oceans and in turn the food chain.

Plastic straws and cutlery are among the 10 most common types of sea waste. When ingested by marine life these materials break down into microplastics, putting people who eat seafood at risk.

Follow the lead of Bikers Cafe, Flow, Freedom Pizza, The Noodle House, Pierchic and Reform, and say no to the straw. We owe it to the planet.
