Thanks to the introduction of a new part-time contract, employees in the UAE can now have more than one job simultaneously. This new system implemented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation allows employees to do so without having to obtain approval from their primary employer.
Individuals seeking dual employment cannot, however, exceed eight hours a day or 48 hours a week under one employer and must also receive at least one day of rest a week.
The new system was implemented to allow employers and workers to establish normal business relationships under fixed-term or indefinite contracts.
