Mariam Al Mansouri – First Female Emirati Air Force Pilot

The UAE’s first female fighter pilot, Major Mariam Al Mansouri, was honoured at the United Nations Headquarters in New York last year for “battling stereotypes, and terror, from the air.”

She was one of the first Emirati women to join the United Arab Emirates Air Force (UAEAF) academy after women were allowed to join back in 2007.

A true example of patriotism and courage, she led a strike mission in Syria against Daesh in October 2014. She highlights the need for men and women to have the freedom to work in whatever fields they want without being limited by gender.
